A demo account is a free practice account for trading without the risk of losing money. Quotes and market behaviour on it are real, but trades do not affect any actual funds.
What it is for
- Learning the terminal interface and how orders work before the first paid attempt.
- Testing a trading strategy under real market conditions.
- Practising discipline and emotional control — how you react to a drawdown, the urge to win it back, holding a position.
- Judging how consistently a strategy comes out ahead over a run of trades.
For a newcomer, a demo account removes the fear of that first trade; for an experienced trader, it is a place to test new ideas without spending money on a challenge.
How the demo challenge works
Completing the stages
The demo challenge mirrors the structure of the paid one: the same stages, profit targets and drawdown limits, but on a practice account.
Demo funded account
Once both stages are complete, a demo version of a funded account opens. It runs on real trading conditions — spreads, commissions and funding — so you can see what your result looks like with every cost included.
How demo differs from a real account
| Parameter | Demo account | Real challenge |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | free | challenge fee |
| Quotes and market conditions | real | real |
| Commissions, spread, funding | applied | applied |
| Profit withdrawal | unavailable | available at the funded stage |
| Outcome of completion | experience and a 20% discount | a funded account with an 80–90% profit share |
Demo accounts are also used in some tournaments — a way to compete for prizes without paying anything.
Once a strategy starts turning a consistent profit, move on to the paid format: parameters and pricing are on the Getting Started page.
